Congratulations on your achievement of Finishing Ultraman Florida and welcome to the 'Ohana!

I am sorry I was unable to be there this year to witness your accomplishments and meet each of you.  (And, then I am sorry that I just found this email in my drafts folder, thinking I had sent it weeks ago!  My brain has been a bit overloaded lately with some family health issues).  

I know you all had a chance to meet my husband, David.  But I wanted to introduce myself.  I am Sheryl Cobb, the Co-Race Director with David.  

I wanted to welcome each of you to the 'ohana and also make sure you understand the process of qualification for the Ultraman World Championships.  There are some spots still available for the race in November if you are now interested in applying. Since you officially finished UMFL in February, you are automatically qualified for Ultraman World Championships for the next 2 years.  If you choose to take on the World Championships after 2025, you will need to complete at least an Iron Distance event between now and November 2026.

You do not have to do another Ultraman event to qualify, but I do encourage you to check out the other Ultraman events to experience the challenges of the different courses.  And spending more time with the 'ohana is never a bad idea.

I hope to get a chance to meet each of you at another Ultraman event in the future and hope to see you all take on the Ultraman World Championships at some point.

We have attached the Acceptance Kit to this e-mail.  Please e-mail us a confirmation that you have received the attachment and were able to print it out. We are sending it in Word format. The only forms you need to return NOW are the Team Assistance Request form, the Accommodation form, the Medical forms and Participant Agreement forms.  Please return those to us as quickly as possible by email so that we may begin recruiting volunteers and reserving rooms in Volcano which are on a first received, first served basis. Email these forms to ultramanworlds@gmail.com.  We will only process requests that are returned on the proper forms.  You will need to bring the rest of the completed forms with you to registration on Wednesday, November 26th or email them back prior to registration.

Please send signed copies of the Team Agreement (attached) as you complete putting together any crew members that will be accompanying you.

We have also included information in the Acceptance Kit regarding accommodations for Volcano and Hawi if you wish to book on your own. This year, all athletes will need to secure their own accommodations in the Hawi area or return to Kona on Saturday, November 29th, as the hotel there has downsized.  

We have also attached a copy of the Rules, Regulations and Guidelines for you to share with your crew prior to attending the event.

Can you believe we are just over 3 months away from the start of the 2025 Ultraman World Championships!

So, now is when things get hopping and information from you is critical.  Here are some items we need from you as soon as possible.

1)  If you have not returned your Acceptance Kit documents, please do so immediately.  We cannot guarantee beds at KMC or paddlers if we do not get your requests in by the end of August.  The Kit is attached to this email for your convenience.

2) Meal Counts.  As we work to confirm the details for our Breakfast Briefing, Day 1 dinner at KMC, Hawi Breakfast at the start of Day 3, Finish Line picnic and Awards Dinner, it is helpful to have an accurate count of people attending.  Please fill out the Google Sheet at this link:

You can note dietary restrictions and how many on your team have them in the last 2 columns.  Please make these notations by August 29.
If you don't plan to join us for any of the meals, please just mark a zero in those columns.

3) Photo for website.  Please email a photo of yourself to us at ultramanworlds@gmail.com so we can add you to the website.  Action photos are great as long as we can see your face and it's not covered by a helmet shield, etc.  Please have these submitted to us by 8/29.

Attached are the bike course files for Day 1 and Day 2 Courses.  They are in various formats, so they should work.  There are very few turns on this course and all are well marked and/or staffed.

Please note that the majority of the Day 1 course is on the main highway around the island.

Please remember to have your bike inspected at BikeWorks and bring the completed Bike Inspection form with you when you come to Registration.  You will not be able to complete the Registration process without that form.  BikeWorks has the inspection forms already.  Also, please remember to take your lights, helmet and shoes with you to BikeWorks for the inspection.  And, if you are planning on having a spare bike, it also must be inspected and have a completed inspection form.
