Meet ALVARO NUNEZ ALFARO, proudly representing Spain! This dynamic entrepreneur and esteemed author has a penchant for indulging in carbonara and enjoys the epic film “Gladiator.” Alvaro’s remarkable journey includes conquering the grueling Marathon Des Sables, where he symbolically bore the weight of depression by carrying a weight on his back, shining a spotlight on mental health awareness!

Meet AMIR YUNUS, from Texas, USA!! He loves Beef Nihari with ginger, and his favorite movie is “Rudy”. He’s racing to raise awareness and funds for The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation – – he wants people to know you can still do crazy awesome things even when you have an incurable form of anemia! Meet ANA GALLARDO AVILA, from Mexico!! She loves Nigiris and “The Holiday”. When she’s not designing, coaching, or racing, this architect enjoys spending time hanging out with her funny dog, Killian!

Meet ARIEL APONTE from North Carolina, USA!! His favorite movie is “The Shawshank Redemption”, and he loves to throw down some pasta. He gave 20 years of service to the Army Special Forces — thank you for your service, Ariel!

Meet BRENDAN MARINELLI from New York, USA!! His favorite movie is “Rudy” and he loves pasta! This is your year, Brendan!!

Meet BYRON FLORES, from Ecuador!! He wants everyone to know that young or old, it is never too late to start! This agricultural engineer loves to throw down some steak while watching “Men In Black”!

Meet CODY CHANDLER, from Texas, USA!! (Yes, another Texan!!) This entrepreneur is a Mentor Angel – – they are a community of cancer survivors who provide encouragement, empathy and understanding to individuals seeking cancer support. When he’s not training or mentoring, he enjoys eating cheeseburgers while watching “The Family Man”!

Meet DANIYAR AUBEKEROV, from Kazakhstan!! You will likely find him chowing down some vegan quesadillas while watching “The Karate Kid”! He has overcome some big obstacles, and we can’t wait to watch him battle on the UMFL course next week!

Meet DAVID BOYETTE from Florida, USA!! This grandpa of five loves peanut butter and “Star Trek”, and you’ll often find him on a high school football or soccer field wearing black and white stripes!

Meet DIANA PEREIRA from Venezuela!! This coach, mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend loves sushi and the movie “Eat, Pray, Love”! You’ll often find her playing with her adorable daughter, and her dog Astro – – and we’re excited to see her become the first female Venezuelan to finish UMFL!!

Meet DMITRIY ZIMIN, from Georgia, USA!! He loves shish kabobs and “Gladiator” – – and he’s gonna be pushing to find out what his “real limit” is at UMFL! We can’t wait to see this super fun guy crossing those three finish lines next week!

Meet ERIKA VERMILL, from California, USA!! She loves Lebanese food and tacos, and “Grease” is the word! A self-proclaimed snorter (make her laugh… you’ll see!!), when she’s not home cuddling Molly and Whistler, you’ll find her scuba diving as often as possible!

Meet JUAN “CHAMBA” CASTILLA ARROYO, from Spain!! This college professor loves Salmorejo Español, and life is perfect when he’s also watching “Avatar”! Chamba’s lifestyle is Ultraman – – this will be his seventh Ultraman branded race – – he obviously loves the ‘ohana, and we love him right back!

Meet JUAN PABLO MONTES BARRIENTOS, from Bolivia!! Juanpa raced with us in 2017, so we are stoked to have him back! When he’s not hanging out with his new rescued dog, you’ll find him chowing down on some churrasco or steak, or having fun on some random dance floor! It’s his dream to cross the finish line holding his little daughter’s hand – – we are looking forward to witnessing that special moment next week!

Meet KATIE SOLBO from Texas, USA!! Her favorite movie is “Emperor’s New Groove”, and she loves all the peanut butter things! Her biggest fans are Holly, Thea, Pip, Peanut, and the IG famous PrimmCakes (look her up!)!

Meet KEI TSUKAKOSHI, representing Japan!! This IT Engineer enjoys volunteering as a referee for races in his local area. His go-to movie is “The World’s Fastest Indian”, and he loves rice balls!

Let’s meet our 2024 athletes! First up, meet KENNA SUPKIS from Texas, USA!! Her favorite movie is “Despicable Me” – – she obviously enjoys goat yoga – – but better yet, and #FunFact – she creates the most beautiful and delicious COOKIES (and her legit weakness is chocolate chip cookies)!!

Meet KERI MANDELL from New Jersey, USA!! This Ultraman Arizona finisher is a big fan of “Twilight” and anything with peanut butter! …And some of her biggest fans have four paws…

Meet KRIS GALLOWAY, from Florida, USA!! This guy loves tacos and BBQ and can’t decide which is better… perhaps BBQ tacos are in order?! “The Shawshank Redemption” is his favorite, and you’ll often find this dad (and dog lover) helping out at cross country meets, soccer, or flag football games!

Meet LEIDA VELEZ, from Florida, USA!! She has crewed many times, but this time SHE will be crossing the finish line, thanks to her pro crew of alumni finishers! She loves Friday Night Steak, and her favorite movie is life itself! Her business “Rise, Shine and Lead, LLC” is a proud partner of UMFL!

Meet MARC GALIETTA, from Pennsylvania, USA!! “The Last of the Mohicans” is his hands-down favorite movie, and he can throw down tons of tacos (even if it’s not Tuesday!)! This 2017 UMFL finisher is coming back for the ‘ohana – – because that’s what it’s all about!

Meet MARY CAVNAR-JOHNSON, from Texas, USA!! She’s been racing triathlon for only 7 years, and after volunteering as crew at Ultraman Arizona and then at our 2023 UMFL finish line, we can’t wait to see her race!

Meet MATTHEW TONES, representing NEW ZEALAND!! His favorite movie is “About Time”, and he loves Japanese food! This stay-at-home-dad likes signing up for races that scare him…. let’s see if UMFL is scary enough for him?!!

Meet MELISSA PAUROWSKI from Georgia, USA!! This amazing teacher loves food: Pasta, Turkey Jerky, Cheese Quesadillas, Ramen, Bananas – – you name it, she’ll eat it! She’s loves doing hard things and we are very excited to watch her race next week!

Meet MIKE MORRISSEY, from Florida, USA!! This Clermont local loves spending time with his dog Ultra, while eating pizza and ice cream, and watching “The Lord of the Rings”! This year he plans to tackle all four of the official Ultraman races!

Meet MIGUEL MADRID LOPEZ, from Spain!! He’s finishing up his official Ultraman circuit, after having completed Ultraman Arizona, Ultraman World Championships and Ultraman Canada! His favorite movie is “La Vida Es Bella” and he can’t get enough bread and watermelon in his life!

Meet MOHANED “NED” OSMAN, representing Egypt!! He’s all about potatoes, peanut butter, dates, and bananas — plus, he’s a huge fan of “The Lion King”! Can you believe he only started doing triathlons three years ago? We can’t wait to see him tackle his longest one yet next week!

Meet PRAMOD KUCHEKAR, from India!! This orthopedic surgeon loves to climb! (Ask him about scaling Mount Stok Kangri or trekking to Everest base camp!) He enjoys chicken, bread, rice, noodles, fruit, and soup, and especially loves “Mr. Bean”.

Meet RAFAEL RIVERA, from Wisconsin, USA!! His favorite movie is “Captain America: Civil War”, and when Rafy isn’t training, he LOVES eating anything cooked by his wife! This guy has undergone an incredible transformation over the past few years, and we are excited to watch him (and his awesome supportive family!) take on their first Ultraman event!

Meet RAHUL KULKARNI, from India!! He loves watching “Zindagi na milegi Dobara” with his two dogs, Max and Bruno – – and it’s even better when he’s eating Asian Veg at the same time! Good luck later this week, Rahul!

Meet ROB MELFI from Florida, USA!! This certified scuba diver loves some mint chocolate chip ice cream, and his favorite movie is “The Dark Knight”! Let’s go, Rob!!

Meet ROBERT PRICE, from Alabama, USA!! This father of four loves burritos and “Rocky”! We are looking forward to seeing this guy “gator done”…

Meet SAM LAPENA, representing the Philippines!! “Titanic” is his favorite movie, and he loves dark chocolate ice cream! Let’s go, Sam!!

Meet SAURABH AHUJA, representing India!! He learned a lot while crewing in 2023, and we are excited to see him compete this year! Saurabh loves Aloo Parantha, and his favorite movie is “3 Idiots”.

Meet SHEA PARTON, from Oregon, USA!! He loves anything with vegan vibes, and his favorite movie is “Man on Fire”! Go Shea!

Meet STAN SNYDER, from Alabama, USA!! He loves any steak from Charles Mulligan’s Steakhouse, and the movie “Snatch” is his favorite. Admittedly not the fastest guy, this father of two boys and volunteer coach likes to do things that take a really, really long time – – so it sounds like UMFL will be perfect for him!

Meet STEVE ANDERSON, from Illinois, USA!! He and his family live in a houseful of animals, including two American Bulldogs, a French Bulldog, a parrot, a tortoise, and two lizards! He loves cheeseburgers, “Braveheart”, and climbing Sugarloaf – – we are looking forward to watching him do that one more time next week!

Meet STEVE KELLER, from Virginia, USA!! When not training at 3:00am every day, this guy loves throwing down chicken wings and watching “Frozen” (NOT Frozen 2!!) with his two adorable daughters, super smart wife, Taco the tortoise, Billy & Rod the guinea pigs, and Clyde the Australian Shepherd!

Meet STEVEN PIVNIK, representing Israel / USA!! He enjoys throwing down some pizza while watching “Top Gun” – – and he just released a book called “Built to Finish” – – go look it up!

Meet VAN FLETCHER, from North Carolina, USA!! This guy has completed a ridiculous 12 mile Swim Around Charleston! He loves steak and “The Shawshank Redemption”

Meet VIKTORIA BROWN, representing Canada and Hungary! This badass mom of three. holds the 72 hour ultra running world record ! She will eat anything edible, and highly recommends the movie “Sátántangó” for those who need to tackle an indoor 7.5 hour training ride!
